Say Yes to What’s Next – the Reviews!
The reviews of “Say Yes to What’s Next: How to Age With Elegance and Class While Never Losing Your Beauty and Sass!” are in and I’m beyond excited and so humbled by all the amazing things people have to say. This book has been such a labor of love for me; I poured my heart and soul into every single word on these pages in the hopes of motivating, inspiring, and touching readers worldwide. It’s no holds barred and straight to the point, which I hope will be both refreshing and appreciated by my readers. Here’s just a sample of some of the amazing things readers have been saying about my book:
From “Living my Best Book Life” on Goodreads: “Say Yes to What’s Next is an honest and easy read by Lori Allen that offers advice and life lessons to live your best life no matter your age! This book is a memoir with life tips to help readers grow and learn to not be afraid of change. I loved that she was so open when it came to her personal and professional life. She talked about her battle with cancer, her struggles with aging, and gives some pretty great advice along the way. I feel like this book can help any woman because as we age I feel like we all deal with struggles with our appearance, emotions, health (both physical and mental), and our self-confidence. Through sharing her experiences she details how she felt and how/what she had to do to feel more like herself again.”
From Letitia P. from Texas on Amazon: “I got the book from preorder and I am reading it for the second time. Lori speaks to every little thing that I have had insecurities over, stressed over and thought about. Her advice is spot on and I feel like I am no longer the only one out there. Thank you for writing this guide for us women!!”
From Mamma Leighellen on Instagram: “This book could not have come at a more perfect time. There is no guidebook for the stage of life I am in. I remember when I was pregnant, I devoured books like “The Girlfriends Guide To Pregnancy” and “What To Expect When You’re Expecting” because others who had gone before me shared their experience so I’d feel less alone and afraid of what’s next. “Say Yes to What’s Next” comes along side those of us who are looking for aid in this chapter of life and reminds us that we, too, are not alone and we will not only be OK, we will shine.”
For the past couple of months, I’ve been speaking with my friends in the media about my book and it has been such a wonderful experience. Mollie and I sat down with People magazine a couple of weeks ago where we got real about the question that encouraged me to write this book. If you’re a woman over 50, you’ll definitely want to hear what I have to say. I touch upon both sexism and ageism that women in a certain age bracket in today’s society deal with on a day to day basis.
I also hosted a 30-minute girls evening with Good Housekeeping on Instagram and aside from some technical difficulties, I had a blast. During this interview, I discussed some self-care tips from my book that I truly feel resonates with so many people right now. In light of COVID-19, there is so much that we can’t control in our lives, we just need to make self-care a priority. Watch the video for some ideas on the things you CAN control, and I promise you’ll feel a whole lot better once you’re back in the driver’s seat of your life.
I’m also going on a virtual book tour this summer, and I hope you’ll tune in and join me. From Instagram lives to interviews with fellow bibliophiles and book bloggers, I’ll be dishing out some advice while inspiring women all over to take stock of their lives and make a change. Mark your calendars with some of these dates here.
Have you ordered my book yet? You can buy it as a hard cover, paperback or audiobook on Amazon. I would love to hear what you thought once you read my book; share your reviews in the comments and I’ll share some of my favorites on my social media accounts.
Thank you so much for your support.
Until next time,
