Lori’s Favorite Holiday Outfits

‘Tis the season for holiday get togethers, office parties, and loads of fabulous family entertaining. Like Santa, I make my own list to prepare for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, and make sure to include everything from delicious dishes and tablescape designs to family gift ideas and holiday outfits.

Maybe it’s an occupational hazard, but when they start playing Christmas carols on the radio, I start thinking about fashionable holiday attire. I’m definitely not one of those people standing in a bathrobe and just staring at my closet minutes before Midnight Christmas Services wondering what I’m going to wear to Church. When you love to shop for new clothes and accessories, planning your holiday looks is an exciting activity!

I’ve gotten so used to planning out my outfits for the show, that I now plan out my holiday wardrobe from head to toe well in advance. From holiday traveling to Christmas brunch, here are some of my favorite outfits this season:

  • Holiday Travel: If you’re going to be traveling this holiday season, you want to be comfortable but also stylish. This black wrap from Lululemon is one of my favorite travel accessories; it keeps me warm and cozy during long flights and flatters every figure. Footwear is also really important when traveling and while y’all know I love my high heels, I like to be comfortable whenever I fly. These black velvet Birdies loafers easily slip on and provide the perfect cushion for my feet. Don’t forget the right luggage this holiday season! Roam luggage is durable and also practical, so I can zip through crowded airports without feeling weighted down. The Jaunt XL is light and easy to maneuver, plus it’s fully customizable and available in 9 bold colors including this paradise pink/lotus red color block design.

Office Party: I like to get all dressed up for our Bridals by Lori/TLC family holiday party, where Monte and I spend time celebrating and appreciating everyone who has worked so hard at the store and on the show. This year, I picked a beautiful red dress from Elie Tahari. While this exact dress I’m wearing is sadly sold out already, I love the tapered fit through the top with the beautiful bows on my shoulders, while the flare skirt and plunging neckline flatters my petite frame. To complete this look, I paired the dress with two timeless fashion staples from my closet: my Prada stilettos and a Chanel clutch. These Prada stilettos in silver brings that much needed pop of holiday shimmer to my outfit, while you can never go wrong with a black Chanel clutch. It might be a decadent investment but it will never go out of style and will become that one accessory you’ll have to hide from your daughters!

  • Family Holiday Brunch: The Draper James holiday line of dresses and accessories was created with more than just the Southern woman in mind. I got a sneak peak of this year’s holiday attire and I absolutely fell in love with this red and blue checkered dress and black velvet sleeveless number. Its cut is classic and elegant, while the fabric is extremely soft and versatile. I absolutely adore the fit and flare style, while the above the knee length is modest and perfect for my height. The hi y’all/bye y’all mittens is an accessory that I swear was created with me in mind! It brings that extra touch of holiday whimsy to any outfit and would also make a great stocking stuffer.

Christmas MorningWe are one of those families who like to go to bed on Christmas Eve wearing matching holiday pajamas, and fortunately for us Hanna Andersson has a great selection of pajamas in a variety of sizes that will fit the entire family. From onesies for our new Grandson Jack to long johns for my Dad, we are all coordinated and looking festive for those early morning photos that become lifelong fond holiday memories. Looking for that extra fun stocking stuffer? Mollie bought me these adorable Hallmark socks from Amazon and I just love them! It’s the perfect little gift for anyone who waits all year for those uplifting Hallmark Christmas movies.
