Lori’s Essential Beauty Haul
Happy countdown to Spring, y’all! February has been such a wonderful month for us as we celebrated Valentine’s Day and a couple of very special milestone birthdays. My beautiful Mom, Jean, and her twin sister, June, turned 89 at the beginning of February, and we celebrated in style. These women have been my role models all my life, and I love them dearly.
My Aunt June paved the way for me in the bridal industry as a store owner herself, and I attribute a lot of my success to her mentorship and encouragement. While my Mama has always been my strongest supporter, both personally and professionally; she’s been through it all with me and taught me how to rely on my faith and my wits to forge ahead and succeed. I get so much pleasure seeing how, even as octogenarians, both are still thriving and living life to the fullest!
The beauty of these 89-year-old women lies in the grace, wisdom, and confidence that comes from a life well-lived. And I’ve got to say that they both look incredible! They attribute a lot of it to a consistent skincare routine such as gentle cleansing, moisturizing, protecting from the sun (wear your sunscreen, ladies!), and staying hydrated. Combined, this is the key to healthy and radiant skin. Mom and Aunt June also have a simple yet effective makeup routine that focuses on enhancing their natural beauty and embracing aging with grace and dignity.
Spending time with them got me thinking about my daily skincare and makeup routine, and I’m always getting asked on social media about my favorite beauty products. So today, I wanted to share my beauty haull with y’all!

It’s so essential to establish a skincare routine and it’s never too late to start if you haven’t already. I’ve made taking care of my skin such a priority throughout my life, and I see so many benefits when I look in the mirror. I’ve always made sure to drink enough water to stay hydrated, especially since I’m constantly on the go between work, family, and filming. And I always wear a good non-comedogenic sunscreen to protect my skin from sunspots and wrinkles.
As a breast cancer survivor, I became more aware of the ingredients in my skincare and makeup, and I try to use products that are free from harmful chemicals and toxins. I’ve been using products from Indie Lee for years and love their gentle facial cleaners and nourishing moisturizers. It brings me so much peace of mind knowing that each product is crafted with care and reflects the brand’s commitment to clean beauty. Try their their Stem Cell Serum with Hyaluronic Acid that hydrates and plumps up the skin.
Once my skin is clean, hydrated, and prepped, I use a light foundation from Charlotte Tilbury. I love this one for work or when I’m just running errands. When I’m filming or for a night out on the town, I use a heavier foundation like this one from Kevyn Aucoin Beauty. It doesn’t leave my face feeling weighed down and it comes off easily!
I use some bronzer to sculpt my cheeks and forehead and then I dab some highlighter around my eyes to add a little glow. It gives me a youthful, dewy look that’s very natural. I finish off with Stila’s cheek cream in a rosy, pink shade that warms my skin. It’s a perfect shade no matter which season!
Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes are known for their bold and vibrant colors and range of shades, which gives you endless possibilities for your makeup look. My makeup drawer is full of Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes but this neutral one is my all-time favorite.
I also don’t think you need to break the bank when it comes to mascara. There are so many great budget-friendly options out on the market! I have always really liked Maybelline mascara and this Sky-High washable mascara gives your lashes a great lift and is easy to remove at night.
Finishing off my makeup look with the perfect lipstick ties everything together, adds that pop of color, and just enhances all your natural beauty. I do often change up my lipstick depending on the look I’m going for, but my go-to everyday favorite is this beautiful plum shade from Ulta.
I hope you found some inspiration for your skincare and makeup routine! Remember, investing in yourself by caring for your skin or using makeup to make you feel beautiful, is an act of self-love and self-care. Finding the right products that work for you can make all the difference!
